This remarkable homemade bike light uses three 8 watt Luxeon Star LEDs. Each LED produces 72 lumens, for a whopping total of 576 lumens of blinding light. The ultimate off road bike light!

This is homemade, made in my garage. I did it for fun, and to see how bright such a light can be. It is mildly water resistant. I'm using eight 3 watt Luxeon Stars, eight Fraen LP collimating optics, and custom made optics holders. It is somewhat crude in appearance. Well, it is very crude. But it is bright, oh, so very bright.

Battery life is about 4 hours at maximum brightness, using nimh rechargables. But battery life can vary depending on type and quality of batteries used.

The batteries will be held in a pouch that goes under the handlebars on the front, or under the seat. The light will be mounted on the handlebars.
