VINTAGE RANGER SCOVILL FLASHLIGHT, MODIFIED WITH A LUXEON STAR LED

This is an old, vintage, RANGER SCOVILL flashlight. I have put a white Luxeon Star LED, the brightest LED in the world, into this collectors item flashlight.

I put a white Luxeon Star in this flashlight.

This is a really neat flashlight! It is made to use 2 'D' cells, but I am using two 4 AA battery packs, a total of 8 AA batteries, at 6 volts, and I am using a resistor in it.

This one single Luxeon Star LED is equivalent in brightness to about 18 5600mcd LED's. It will achieve a long burn time of 16 hours high brightness light, and many many more hours of gradually diminishing light. AWESOME!
