GARRITY STAINLESS STEEL FLASHLIGHT, MODIFIED WITH A LUXEON STAR LED

This is a Garrity Stainless Steel flashlight. It uses 4 AA batteries. (Short version of a 2 'D' cell.) I have put a white Luxeon Star LED, the brightest LED in the world, into this flashlight.

This one single Luxeon Star LED is equivalent in brightness to many 5600mcd LED's. It will achieve a long burn time of 8 hours high brightness light, and many many more hours of gradually diminishing light. This is not a direct drive flashlight, like many other flashlights I've modified, but has some resistance in it, to extend the battery life. I heavily modified the insides, using a large heat sink, which actually very thoroughly is in contact with the exterior metal, to better sink the heat away from the Luxeon Star LED. This is a very nice, practical size flashlight, and very very unique. This is a Garrity flashlight which I purchased from a store new, and myself modified. AWESOME!
