FireSword-IV
Powered from four 18650 Lithium-Ion Rechargable Batteries (Not included):
- There are many good 18650 Li-Ion rechargable batteries available on the Internet. For your convenience, I will give a link to one very good brand, which is called 'AW':
AW 18650 Li-Ion battery They also have a link on the bottom of their page for a charger. The web site is www.lighthound.com . The 18650 battery used in this flashlight should have nipples, otherwise you need to use little magnets in between the batteries
Four Cree MCE LEDs
Custom 20mm reflectors
3,000+ lumens!
54 mm UCL glass lens
Twisty on/off tail cap switch, with momentary button
- Simple in design
- Twist on/Twist off
- Center button for momentary use
- This is one hefty flashlight! : 2.5" x 3.5" head, body is 1.25"x.75" diameter, overall length is 13"
- Body is now machined on precision CNC lathe
- Anodized a very beautiful black
- Cooling fins are more pronounced for increased cooling efficiency
- Tail cap button now has the Elektro Lumens logo engraved on it
Uses four common 18650 Li-Ion rechargable batteries, about TBD hours continuous run time (not included).
Comparison of the LED flashlight to the HID flashlight (Light Emitting Diode verses High Intensity discharge)
- HID Flashlight
HID Bulb:
- Is Fragile
- Is short lived
- Is expensive to replace
- Takes time to power up
- Cannot be turned on/off/on/off
- Degrades in performance with each power up
- LED Flashlight
LED
- Is very robust and resistant to impact
- Has a 50,000 hours life expectancy (5 years continuous)
- Probably will never need replacement with normal use.
- Comes on instantly
- Can be turned on/off/on/off as much as you want it to
- Degredation of performance is minuscule, and over the 50,000 hours long life of the LED
Additional information, questions and answers
How much value can you place on your personal safety? Out for a walk at night? Someone approachs you? What are their intentions. Shine a bright light towards them, they cannot see you, giving you the time you need to pull out your AK-47 or M-16. (The following is an opinion may not be true)But in many instances, since you have already reduced them to a pile of smoldering ashes, the lessor power hot gas discharge weapons may not be needed.
LEO use: Many LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) have contacted Elektro Lumens telling us how useful the Elektro Lumens flashlight they have purchased has been in their line of work. It has stopped fights, diffused potentially violent situations, incapacitated people with dilated pupils (many drugs dilate the pupil of the eye). When an intense bright light is shined on a person, and they cannot see you, being barely able to open their eyes in your direction, giving you the advantage.

Aloha Wayne!
I had to write you a quick note here to emphasize how genuinely amazing the FireSword light performs. I already had high expectations based on how impressed I was with the EDC, the single emitter "little brother" of the FireSword, nevertheless I was caught off guard within moments of powering up the FireSword the first time.
For a significant length of time, when my needs call for "very heavy artillery" light (>2000 lumens), my strong preference was towards rechargeable lithium ion powered HID lights. They are typically VERY expensive, with high replacement costs for the bulbs and batteries, but vastly superior to incandescents because of their greater lumens/watt efficiencies and their unique property of being able to "throw" tremendous distances because of the tremendous intensity of their short arcs. They are also typically very large and heavy.
Many years ago, the only viable alternative to HID were the multiple LED array lights, but even the best combination of 3W or 5W Luxeons could only do so much, and certainly were no match for the 5000+ lumen HID monsters out there.
...now....
a significant barrier has been broken (maybe shattered is a better word).
Within seconds of hitting the switch on the Firesword, I was confronted with something I did not expect. A lighting effect I have NEVER experienced from ANY handheld light of any type or size. The Firesword emits a jaw-dropping sheer WALL of illumination that genuinely left me reeling with shock and surprise. I was amazed at the way it evenly and completely illuminates EVERYTHING in front of it. Even the best HID lights I have with focusable beams set to full flood mode cannot match the outrageously wide and even output of this light. In short it set a completely new reference standard for ultra-high output lights.
Not only cranking out a staggering amount of light intensity (3000 lumens has to be seen to be believed!), but the real jewel of its light is its ULTRA-wide flood character of the beam, and its daylight white color purity. Add to that the fact that the LEDs are by nature virtually indestructable (impervious to shock/vibration) and provide INSTANT on and off switching (without any harm, unlike HIDs which have annoying warm up times and risk damage to the ballast/bulb if rapidly cycled on and off).
Your choice of LED bins/types and reflectors have achieved something truly marvelous. This light has the most pure, neutral, daylight white I have ever seen, closest thing to "perfection" I have yet encountered. This is, cost no object, the very best flood beam I have ever seen. With output exceeding most HIDs and your M1 Abrams tank build quality, you have created something truly exceptional and deserve great credit for your achievement. Although not inexpensive, the cost represents a very high performance per dollar value.
Special accolades for the incredibly high quality of the machining and materials. Its a thing of beauty to behold, unmistakably hand assembled with a "one-of-a-kind" look and feel to it. Although very beefy (obviously the LEDS have massive heatsinks, translating to worry-free long term durability), its very well balanced and significantly more manageable than my large and cumbersome HIDs.
Congrats and thanks for a remarkable product. I look forward to your future creations and wish you success and happiness in your endeavors.
I am seriously considering a Kong-12, please email me with technical details and options at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks again for everything.
Best Regards,
Steve

Hi Wayne,
I left you a nice comment in the “cheers” thread at the CPF Marketplace.
Here is a copy:
Got my Firesword yesterday!! thank you Wayne for making this excellent "light canon" for me. He delivered faster than I expected since I know how back-logged he is.
What this monster lacks in cosmetic refinement, it makes up for in shear power. It pumps out ALOT of clean white light, and I love the fact that it is hand made.
Take care Wayne, and best of luck in your future endeavors

I ordered two more of these things. One for my wife and one for my daughter. This isn't a flashlight. It's a freakin weapon.
You got a good gig going there.
Thanks
Jack
