E-One Moli IMR-26700A
Manganese dioxide based Li-ion battery cell
2900mAh, 3.8V, max 40A discharge

Moli's IMR-26700A is a 2900 mAh high power cell. It has a manganese dioxide spinel cathode and a graphite carbon anode, providing a nominal 3.8 V and 2900 mAh capacity.

Moli Energy was founded in 1998 and focused on producing high capacity energy cells for notebook computers, high-end electronics and networking communication devices. In 2004 it partnered with Milwaukee Electric Tools to develop a high energy power cell for cordless power tools, with its first power tool model introduced in 2005. It has also provided batteries to Ford for electric cars, trialed in a 23kWh battery pack for the Fisker Karma in 2008, and became the first qualified battery supplier for BMW MINI E. All these applications use the IMR-26700A cell.

A number of safety features were designed into the IMR-26700A cell, including thermal interrupt, tear-away tab and vent that relief pressure and prevent runaway overheating and outgassing. In addition, it's 40A maximum discharge provides stable 13C discharge, an attribute from the spinel structure of LiMnO2.

The IMR-26700A cell has a wide adoption for applications such as cordless power tools, electric vehicle and remote control model aeroplane.
