VINTAGE BOYSCOUT 'L' NECK FLASHLIGHT, MODIFIED WITH A LUXEON STAR LED
This is an old, vintage, Boyscout 'L' neck flashlight. I have put a Luxeon Star LED, the brightest LED in the world, into this collectors item flashlight.
This is a really neat flashlight! It has a 'L' neck, or 'crook' neck, and the Light shines horizontally to the body of the flashlight. It has a very practical belt clip. The flashlight is constructed of brass, with a sort of military green color, somewhat worn off. It is made to use 2 'D' cells, but I am using 4 AA batteries in a battery holder the size of a single 'D' cell, and a dummy 'D' cell with a resistor in it. I am presently testing this flashlight to see how long it will last on a set of batteries.
The Luxeon Star has the same characteristics as the dimmer and smaller LED's, such as it stays it's bluish white color, and never goes yellow, and it's super long life (100,000 hours), and it's being impervious to impact.
This one single Luxeon Star LED is equivalent in brightness to 18 to 20 5600mcd Nichia white LED's. It will achieve a long burn time of around 24 hours high brightness light, and many many more hours of gradually diminishing light. AWESOME!
You can have a vintage Boyscout flashlight, with the most modern LED lighting technology available. You can have it NOW! That is, if you are the highest bidder!
