3-To-D-V2 Battery Holders

New, completely redesigned, super low resistance

What are '3-To-D-V2' battery holders? Just what the name says. It is a battery holder that is the same size as a D cell battery, and holds 3 AA batteries. (Note: the 'V2' in the part # indicates version 2, which has far less voltage resistance than the first 3-To-D battery holders, less than .1 ohms.)

Why would you want to use such a battery holder? Well, for one thing, I use them in my Blaster Jr flashlight, which uses a 1 watt Luxeon Star LED. With one of these holders, using 3 AA batteries, I get 4.5 volts of power, in the same space as one D cell. One D cell batteries is only 1.5 volts (1.2 if rechargables are used). In place of one D cell battery at only 1.5 volts, I can have 4.5 volts. So I can have the smaller flashlight size of a one D cell flashlight, with the voltage of a 3 D cell flashlight.

You can use them to convert your flashlight to use a Luxeon Star. You can use them in your two D cell flashlight, and put in a higher voltage bulb for greater brightness. You can put them in a 3D or 4D or larger flashlight, to get a much higher voltage, for whatever type of lighting system you can think up. A six D cell flashlight could hold 18 AA batteries, for a whopping 24 volts. Etc. etc. etc. . . . . . . . . . . .
